A lot of time goes into choosing the right home for you and your family. Are the rooms big enough? Do the windows open and close properly? Is the roof in good condition? These are all very important factors to consider when purchasing a home, but there's one element that sometimes gets overlooked: doors.

There's at least one in every room, they offer privacy and seclusion and can open your home up a world of possibilities. The types of doors you choose in your home can significantly impact the flow, space and design of the overall structure. If you have the privilege of choosing the types of doors in the interior of your home (or can afford to upgrade existing ones) then you have a lot of styles and designs to choose from.

Below you will find a list of popular door styles:

1.    French Doors. French doors have, and will likely always be, a symbol of elegant, class and style. French doors can be the focal point of a room and open wide enough to make two rooms almost appear as one. Often, French doors feature floor-to-top glass panes with wood panel designs throughout. This type of door can be costly, but will definitely add value to your home.

2.    Sliding Doors. Sliding doors have their pros and cons. Generally, if you have a sliding door, the design will offer floor-to-ceiling windows which are great for adding light to the room. They're also easier to open in the summer, only exposing the screen for fresh air. The major downfall with this type of door is related to maintenance. Because these doors slide open and closed so often, it's easy for bugs, dirt and dust to get trapped in between the doors making it much more difficult to keep them clean.

3.    Accordion/Folding Doors. Many homeowners view accordion/folding doors as outdated and tacky while many others find them affordable and practical. If you're looking for an inexpensive way to add a door to a room, a folding or accordion door might be the perfect answer. Easy to install and perfect for any budget, this type of door is a great way to achieve your goal without breaking your wallet.
We hope our tips have helped you choose the perfect doors for your home.
